The i7 is better than the i5 because of the Multithreading function which basically creates 4 more virtual cores making it perform as an 8 core. This has no impact on gaming performances because most of games don't take advantage of muli cores CPUs and the hourse power is always the same.
On the other hand they both have the "turbo function" which increses the clock of the CPU allowing better performances.
In conclusion, if you can afford the i7 get it but if won't get you any more frame, but when editing or heavily multi tasking the i5 may suffer a bit.
Hope to have helped you, sorry for eventual mistakes.
Unless your games are designed to specifically take advantage of multi-threading, you will see no difference in performance between the i5 and the i7. The i7 is basically the i5 with the ability to use hyperthreading or two threads running on 1 core where as the i5 can only run one thread per core.
Intel officially told that 8 core extreme CPU is coming this fall. We all know that Haswell is not capable of holding more than 4 cores (6 core 4960X and 4930K uses Ivy Bridge) and since they cannot switch back to Ivy or Sandy bridge, they will release it under Broadwell,
which is 5th gen. Also chipset will be Z97 for usual CPU's (possibly i7-5770K, i5-5670K IDK just guessing). Z99 and X99 Chipsets will be released for extremes.
Wait Intel core i7(5th gen) as the cloak speed and caches will we better that previous generation.
For gaming there is barely any difference between an i5 and an i7, get the i5 and spend the extra money on a better GPU.
After comparing their prices and features i find the i5 4690k better in overall performance.
It is true that the i7 performs better but the price it costs is more than the performance offered
i suggest you to go with i5 4690k.
Good luck
If you're willing to overclock, they'll be virtually equally, and your luck in terms of how well your individual CPU overclocks will be more important.
At stock speeds the 4790k is faster, but it's also a lot more expensive. That's money that should go on other stuff like the graphics card or a solid state drive before you consider the 4790k.
While they are both quad-core only the i7 support hyperthreading so you can run up to 8 threads, it has a larger cache, and a faster base clock speed.
The i7 is a better processor for all things.
The Core i5-4690K's base clock rate is only 200 MHz faster than the Core i5-4590's. it's enough for that....
Both are great for gaming, into multi-playing, video editing , maybe some rendering on the side , game recording then the i7-4790k is the better choice
Your CPU is not what you should be worried. A medium powered CPU would do just fine on most games (Price point around $100) What you need to be asking is about the GPU. I can't recommend a good one because I'm not a serious gamer and I have a cheap one ($50) and it does great.
AMD Company CPU is best for Gaming application Because Game is depend on Graphics. AMD processor is specially designed for Graphics purpose.
Core i-7 will be the best one. But if you will use 64 bit operator that will be best choose for gaming. Happy gaming.
A game is more depended in GPU not CPU.
so
if you are a gamer and your Primary goal is to play game.
then go with i5............................
Else if you will do video rendering or video compressing or Data Compressing,
Then go for Core i7............................ <
