I'm getting the same problem. I thought it was just me as I checked websites and it says it's still up, and those websites are active and reliable.
I think it will be a waiting game.
a lot of people are having problems connecting to facebook
it seems to be people who are using Internet Explorer after the most recent update - use
FIREFOX instead
make sure you are using updated anti-virus protection and anti-malware protection
