It's not filled with bleach and ammonia. When you combine those two things, toxic fumes occur and anyone exposed to it for any length of time would get quite ill.
This is an old job? And you are still worked up about how you reacted? To the point you've felt the need to ask strangers on the Internet to make you feel validated?
I think you need to get into therapy. Why would you value our opinions?
If you were being smacked in the face with toxic substances, you needed to handle it in a serious manner. When you well-being is at risk, you need to have th confidence to speak up and speak out. Sorry, when you are at risk, it's not the time to dwell on the mental health of the attacker.
Depends if it was by accident or on purpose. It's sad but people tend to think stuff like that is funny, I really don't know why. It's not funny when there are chemicals involved that can harm you. I think you've showed a lot of restraint by maintaining control of your temper and casually telling him he needed to stop, I also think you were being really nice by showing empathy towards him when he didn't do anything to you to deserve it.
Sounds like you did the right thing by not losing your temper. It sounds like he doesn't quite get what's right and wrong, and attacking him physically would probably make matters worse. I'm glad your supervisor took charge though. This guy needs to learn that there are consequences to his actions.
that's pretty bad. you aren't supposed to mix bleach and ammonia, it can cause a very dangerous chemical reaction. <
